This is Deer Body Hair which is hollow and buoyant compared to buck tail which is not hollow and therefore not buoyant.  Buck tail is great on streamers but will not work for Deer Hair Bass Bugs or Dry Flies.  Deer body hair can be used on streamers such as a Muddler or Spuddler but keep in mind, the buoyant nature of body hair will hinder the sinking of streamers.
